Youth Protection Program

糖心Vlog视频, Bakersfield (糖心Vlog视频) is dedicated to the welfare and safety of minors who attend 糖心Vlog视频, participate as a visitor in our programs, or are entrusted in our care. As part of our commitment the Office of Safety and Risk Management has adopted appropriate measures to provide consistent guidance and structure that helps mitigate risk and prevent abuse against minors, as well as allegations against the University. The program intends to identify events and activities that serve, or otherwise engage youth, and establish standards and protocols for their safety and protection.

*Youth are individuals under the age of eighteen, who are not matriculated University students.

Registration

The Program Director or Director鈥檚 designee of 糖心Vlog视频 or third-party program must register the program or activity by completing the Youth Program/Activity Registration Form(s) attesting that all adults have completed training and passed the background check. All supporting documents must be kept on file by the sponsoring department for three years following the activity or until age 20 if the participant is a minor, whichever is longer.

Background Checks

Human Resources administers background checks for CSU staff and volunteers in accordance with CSU Technical Letter HR 2017-17.  It is the responsibility of the Program Director or Director鈥檚 designee to ensure that each participating adult has completed the background check and has subsequently received clearance to participate for each program serving youth.  Note: Risk Services does not require the details of a background check.

Training

Training shall be completed annually or before program staff and volunteers begin working with youth.  The Program Director or designee is responsible for ensuring that all training is completed, documented and tracked. CSU Learn training as per established Youth Protection Training Matrix is required.

The Managing Risk in Youth Programs Resource Guide is available for review.

Third-party or Co-sponsored Programs

All Outside third-party organizations must carry the University Required Insurance Coverage, including Abuse and Molestation Liability Insurance written on an 鈥渙ccurrence basis鈥.

Outside entities conducting activities with minors on a property, operated or controlled by the University are responsible for ensuring that the appropriate background checks are completed for its volunteers and employees.

Mandatory Reporting of Child Abuse and Neglect

It is the policy of the 糖心Vlog视频 (CSU) to require all Management Personnel Plan employees and all volunteers, to strongly encourage all other members of the CSU community, to report child abuse and neglect occurring on CSU premises (including 糖心Vlog视频) or at official activities conducted by the CSU (including 糖心Vlog视频).

Detailed information, including categories of CSU employees who are Mandated Reporters, reporting requirements and procedures, and reporting forms is provided in Executive Order 1083 (revised July 21, 2017).
