Middle Class Scholarship (MCS) Update-
The California Student Aid Commission has notified potentially eligible students about
the Middle Class Scholarship (MCS) for the 2025鈥�26 academic year. Our office has now
begun the awarding process.
To help expedite this process, eligibility confirmation and related inquiries will be paused temporarily. Please note that award amounts may be adjusted throughout the year based on other financial aid received, including scholarships, grants, fee waivers, and third-party payments.
Credential students and undergraduates enrolled in fewer than 7 units will be evaluated for eligibility after the census date.

Adjustments to Cost of Attendance (COA), based on additional incurred costs that exceed the standard COA, to alter the data elements used to calculate the Student Aid Index (SAI) and/or Dependency status, are ALL considered on a case-by-case basis. This process is known as professional judgement. In certain circumstances, it can extend to declared disasters, emergencies, or economic downturns.
