ITS Web Services uses a cloud-based web scanning system called Level Access to scan and monitor our campus websites on a weekly basis. When the scheduled scan is complete, the system generates web accessibility reports for website owners. Users must then log in to their Level Access accounts to view their reports.

When a site fails for two weeks in a row, the website owner and web editor(s) are notified that their site is in jeopardy of being redirected. If a site fails for a third consecutive week, it can be redirected. A redirected website is unavailable for viewing by anyone. All traffic that would normally go to any page within the redirected website is instead sent to a page explaining that the site is unavailable due to accessibility non-compliance. A website that has been redirected will remain so until all errors have been repaired. When a web editor has repaired all outstanding issues, the site can be returned to normal operation after ITS Web Services has verified the site passes automated verification.
