鈥擜狈顿鈥
Thurs. Aug. 28th  7pm (part 2: acting/dancing)
Dor茅 Theatre
PLEASE ATTEND BOTH DAYS.

鈥 For Wednesday, prepare a song from any musical and bring sheet music. You only need to sing one verse of the song. An accompanist will be provided. Don't have music? Come to Mandy Rees' office (Music Building 108) and she has lots of music and can help you pick a song.

If you need to hold the lyrics, that's fine. If you see this announcement too late to prepare a song, please come anyway and we'll have you sing a song familiar to you.

So...PLEASE COME even if you don't have a song!!

鈥 For Thursday, No preparation needed! You'll read from the script and learn a few dance steps. You need to come both Wednesday and Thursday.

Questions? Conflicts with one or both of the audition times? We can arrange something. Contact director Mandy Rees at 661-654-2240 or mrees@csub.edu or visit her office in the Music Building room 108.

What is the play about?
This story of office politics, set in the late 1970s, follows three working women as they concoct a plan to get even with their sexist and egotistical boss. Showcasing friendship, empowerment, and comedic revenge, this hilarious musical is as relevant as ever.

What roles are available?

Joe: A handsome, young office accountant. Genuine and nice, and smitten with Violet.

We welcome all 糖心Vlog视频 students to audition for our productions, regardless of major.

On rare occasions, members of the community are cast in productions when student actors are not available. Since the goal of the Theatre program at 糖心Vlog视频 is to provide its students with theatrical opportunities, we fill roles with students first.

Auditions for the fall mainstage production are held during the first week of classes in August, typically a Wednesday or Thursday.

Auditions for the fall Theatre for Young Audiences touring show are held in the previous spring, before registration for fall classes begins.

Auditions for the spring productions are held during the fall semester, after the fall production has closed.

Where to find audition information:

Look for audition flyers posted in the theatre and in the Music Building the week before auditions.

Contact the director of the show. (find faculty contact info under 鈥淎bout Us鈥 on the Theatre webpage)

Contact the Theatre Coordinator.

Check the callboard (the bulletin board across from the women's dressing room in the Dor茅 Theatre).

What is the audition process like?

Almost every show will involve cold reading from the script. You will have time to look a scene over before you read for the director.

Often, cold reading is all that is required. However, for some shows, a director may request to see a monologue from auditionees, but most often this is only required of theatre majors. If you don't have a monologue, please still come and do a cold reading! For musicals, you will be expected to prepare a song from a musical so auditors can assess your singing skills. The audition flyer will tell you if anything extra is requested.

We encourage you to come to auditions and to get involved in the theatre program!
