Affinity groups are open to all CSU Bakersfield faculty & staff.

Vision

The vision of the LGBTQ+ PRIDE (Promoting Resources, inclusion, and diversity in Education) network is to provide and foster a more welcoming, respectful, and inclusive campus community for LGBTQ+ faculty and staff. This group will provide a supportive space to discuss relevant issues, plan educational initiatives, host social activities, and promote student support. Together, this group works to broaden the culture of diversity, increase visibility, inclusion and acceptance at 糖心Vlog视频.

History of OUTober

In 1994, Rodney Wilson, a Missouri high school teacher, believed a month should be dedicated to the celebration and teaching of gay and lesbian teachers and community leaders. They selected October because public schools are in session and existing traditions, such as Coming Out Day (October 11), occur this month.

Gay and Lesbian History Month was endorsed by GLAAD, the Human Rights Campaign, the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, the National Education Association and other national organizations. In 2006, Equality Forum assumed responsibility for providing content, promotion and resources for LGBTQIA+ History Month. Spend a peaceful evening under the sky with a special outdoor yoga night centered on self-expression, love, and belonging.

10/4 | Trans Studies Curriculum Workshop*

Professor D Solis and Professor Sam DeLaCruz will discuss how they work together to document local queer history using a community-based approach. They will contextualize how community-based, queer archival projects can serve as a tool for liberation when they are autonomous, collaborative, accessible, and remain committed to self-determination and decolonialization. Highlighting their work with the Kern 2SLGBTQ+ Community Archive, they will show how recovering memories of the past helps contextualize our present circumstances and reimagine our futures.

An Evening with Actor BD Wong: From Exclusion to Inclusion
