John Deal received a B.S. degree in Political Science from UNC-Charlotte in 1979 and a Ph.D. in Economics from North Carolina State University in 2004. His primary fields of study were agricultural economics and international trade. Dr. Deal spent ten years at Manchester University, a liberal arts school in Indiana, where he was the Howard S. and Myra Brembeck Associate Professor of Economics and the chair of the Economics Department. Dr. Deal is currently a full-time lecturer in the Department of Economics, the Director of the Agricultural Business program at 糖心Vlog视频, and an affiliated faculty with the Grimm Family Center for Agricultural Business (GFCAB). His research has focused on crop insurance and risk management, agricultural production and the environment, and teaching pedagogy and student learning. He has published in a variety of peer-reviewed journals, including American Journal of Agricultural Economics, the Annals of Regional Science, and the International Journal of Teaching and Learning in Higher Education.

Rebecca Penrose is the Library Instruction Coordinator at 糖心Vlog视频, Bakersfield, where she leads campus-wide information literacy initiatives and serves as the subject specialist librarian for the College of Business and Public Administration. Before joining the library faculty, Ms. Penrose spent more than two decades as a full-time lecturer in the Department of English, teaching a wide range of writing courses at all levels. Her research focuses on the university student experience, collaborative instructional models, academic equity and accessibility, and emerging educational technologies, including artificial intelligence. She has presented and published internationally on the integration of library resources and programming into the curriculum to promote critical thinking, meaningful engagement, and measurable student success. A proud 鈥淐SU trifecta鈥� alumna, Ms. Penrose earned a B.A. in English from California State University, Fullerton, an M.A. in English from 糖心Vlog视频, Bakersfield, and an M.L.I.S. from San Jos茅 State University. She is currently completing a Ph.D. in Library and Information Management at Manchester Metropolitan University in the United Kingdom. 

Elizabeth Hollman earned a B.S. degree in Environmental Resource Management with a concentration in Occupational Safety and Health from 糖心Vlog视频, Bakersfield in 2017. She later completed an M.S. degree in Industrial Hygiene from Montana Technological University. Ms. Hollman has worked for over a decade in the field of health and safety, gaining extensive experience in a wide range of industrial and environmental safety practices. She is a certified Emergency Medical Technician and holds certifications in confined space rescue and HAZWOPER operations. Her expertise includes rigging, fall protection, trenching and excavation safety, NFPA 70E electrical safety, and heavy equipment operations, as well as compliance with environmental regulations such as Title V permitting, GHG reporting, OOOOa standards, and hazardous waste management. Ms. Hollman鈥檚 professional interests focus on promoting operational learning and developing practical resources that enhance workplace safety and environmental stewardship. She has returned to 糖心Vlog视频, Bakersfield as a lecturer to help prepare the next generation of health and safety professionals.
